Title: ATI Drivers - What a website change
Post by: Melbosa on November 12, 2006, 12:22:14 PM
Check it out: http://ati.amd.com/ (http://ati.amd.com/)

Used to be one driver set for all Radeon, now you have to select which series of card... different.  Not too bad for finding the drivers though.

I poked around a bit - looks like there's two driver sets for Radeon - version 6.05 for older than 9500, and version 6.10 for 9500 and newer (including the X and X1 series).  And the only reason I noticed is because I have a Radeon 7200 and a Radeon 9800, and I noticed the driver versions are different for them :)  And yes, I know, I have *old* video cards...

I noticed this as well when redoing an old laptop at work.. Seems that the change is there so they could stop supporting older hardware in the newer releases.. Makes sense.
