Provides interesting charts on sales and search data for the next gen consoles.

Sorta similar uses an average sold per second type thing to increase the numbers. Shipping figures and all that work into it as well.

SHould be interesting to see the numbers on Monday, because I am sure there are some systems that only report on weekdays.
haha.. look at those numbers climb.
Xbox 360 consoles sold 7,117,937
Wii consoles sold 665,843
PS3 consoles sold 258,780
I thought about coding a screen scraper this morning to log that data say every hour, i would like to see a historic graph
Done, when it gets more data I will post the link to the graph
Google Trends for Wii (http://www.google.com/trends?q=wii) should be interesting in a week or two...
A comparison of Wii and Nintendo news. (http://www.google.com/trends?q=nintendo%2Cwii&ctab=1&geo=all&date=all)

After getting this done I did a little forum searching and such, basically nextgenwars uses news snipits and press releases to determine an average sales number and then they just average it out over X days and increment their little webpage.
Microsoft is selling ~3,332 per hour
Sony is selling ~324 per hour
Nintendo is selling ~1,328 per hour
It will be interesting to see how much these numbers change now that Nintendo has said they will have 2M available between now and mid Jan
Marketshare seems like a flawed number. If I own both a 360 and a PS3 how does that work?
Numbers for nextgen wars took a dive in the Wii column. I think its @%ed. (Nov 30 12:15)

That seems more better, I guess.
Hmm, the Wii went up by 400,000 over the weekend...
It is an running estimate based on sales rate, it is not very accurate. They correct the value based on press releases, this is why it shifts up and down a great deal.
Went up 400K due to the release of the Wii in Japan

Ya that would be a factor as well
www.nexgenwars.com now has a little chart at the bottom showing how sales have increased over time. Unfortunately there's no x-axis label for time, just a y-axis label for units sold. Still, handy now that Shayne's no longer screen-scraping and publising the stats.
