Man, I think I have every movie in that list; marathon time!

My favourite spaceship is Discovery from 2001 it was my favourite when I was a little kid and it's my favourite now :)

That is a hard list to make.. They made good picks but there are so many other interesting ones that come to mind.

The Lex
Maya? from Farscape
As well as some others.

I kinda liked Serenity from Firefly. A ship with character. :D

What about its sorta-predecessor, the tiny little "ship" known as the "Valley Forge (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067756/photosites)"? ;)

Actually, the Valley Forge from Silent Running would have been seen in 1972 whereas Discovery was seen in 1968. Oddly enough, parts of the Valley Forge model eventually became the ark in Starlost.

THANK YOU. *smacks forehead* That's what I was thinking, got my ancient-sci-fi movie/TVshow connections all mixed up :)

The original Vipers and Basestars kicked ass, I always liked the zoom in on the three button joystick, any spaceship that has "FIRE" next to "TURBO" is good in my books...

Actually, one of my other favourites is the "flying saucer" Leslie Neilson is the captain of in Forbidden Planet (which is being re-released this week).

Speaking of "The Starlost"... Ever heard of Earth Star Voyager (http://boards.imdb.com/title/tt0095077/)?

IMDB forums: similarities? (http://boards.imdb.com/title/tt0095077/board/nest/60749047?d=69046756#69046756)

No, I haven't. But that poster you linked to has his head firmly lodged in his posterior. The cool part about Starlost was precisely that aspect of a journey through something inconceivable (a massive space ship). Earth Star Voyager, to me, sounds like something that might have been interesting had TNG never existed.
