Title: Merry Christmakwanzakkah!
Post by: Darren Dirt on December 23, 2006, 09:34:28 AM
Seirously, though, greetings and best wishes to all of you, enjoy your time off, or your "slow time at work", and may the new year totally kick ass over the overall pretty sucky 2006 (I presume).

Here's to another year of hopes and dreams, laughs and lives fully lived! Keep it real, and stay true to who you are. As William Wordsworth wrote (1834):

Small service is true service while it lasts:
Of humblest Friends, bright Creature! scorn not one:
The Daisy, by the shadow that it casts,
Protects the lingering dew-drop from the Sun.

That best portion of a good man's life,
His little, nameless, unremembered, acts
Of kindness and of love.

-Wordsworth, 'Lines composed a few miles above Tintern Abbey' (1798)

Best wishes to all!

On the subject of "Kwanzaa", by the way... shock of all shocks, Ann Coultergeist actually got some facts right:

"Kwanzaa: Holiday From the FBI" (http://www.proudtobecanadian.ca/blog/index/writergroup/kwanzaa_holiday_from_the_fbi/) (it's only nauseating/annoying/eyeroll-inducing a couple of times, so worry not my friends... ;) )

I found 'The Kwanzaa Hoax' (http://www.textbookleague.org/114kwanz.htm) a better read, with more facts and less inflammatory remarks.  For instance, there's no claims that the FBI gave Karenga support (which the other article mentions but never provides facts for).

Why this American Ann Coultergeist posts on www.ProudToBeCanadian.ca boggles my mind...

FWIU, that is a Canadian "conservative" site, so they often include syndicated coluhmnists' diatribes and spoutings ;)
