I saw the pulsing blue update this morning but didn't have time to see what it was.
Interesting that they are using the 3D globe view similar to the Weather channel.
Associated Press, at least they got a good source, but I am a little disappointed that you cannot use your own RSS feeds for it. The map might be sorta fun to look at but I doubt I would use it as category browsing then headline skimming seems to be far more efficient.
