Are we all sharing again?
All of them, all of the games that they have to show us.... ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P
I'm sure SupCom will come up. CnC3, FlatOut 2, Savage 2 if they release it in time! AoE3, Dungeon Runners if we are looking for some diablo style gaming or Titan Quest. So many to list, so much to play!

It's just a regular room, I don't think there's enough space...
If anyone wants to share a room, let me know. Should probably get it all sorted before theres none left.
I could get a suite the day after but I don't want to move during Fraga :)
On the other hand, the rates are pretty good.
I'm interested in splitting a room as well..
Gotta do some Forza 2 on the projectors too sometime.

Haha! Awesome.
TOURNAMENT INFO!
- Counter-Strike: Source
- Halo2PC
- Supreme Commander
- Unreal Tournament 2004
Given that Supreme Commander and UT2K4 are up this year anyone care to start practising? Anyone into tournament play this year?
I don't think I am good enough, but I think I could try for Supreme Commander or Unreal Tournament.
Still need to figure out the room bookings..
QuoteStill need to figure out the room bookings..
Ditto. Since no one else has said anything, we could share.
Ok I have booked a room.
$109 +tax / night * 3 nights.
Two double beds
Tom we can share. If anyone else is looking for a place to crash let me know. Splitting the cost always makes things easier.
Note: they only indicated 1 more room available and that was a Queen + hid-a-bed
Ok. Groovy. $150 ish for the week end isn't too bad.
Ok, Sphincter wants unused seating reservations back. I need to know if anyone hasn't yet registered/reserved a seat. Also - if you guys want to be at the end of the row, move up ASAP. Same thing if you want to be on both sides of the walkway back-to-back, or all down one side as you are now. In the near future the reservation will be shrinking from the bottom up until it gets to you guys (possibly with a reserved seat or two below you if there are still people missing).
Well, I think Curtis expressed interest. I'll talk to him, but as far as I know everyone is in...
I'm going to assume since no-one moved at all that you don't want to sit back-to-back on both sides of the row. In that case I'm going to let Sphincter take the right-side of the reservation.
Are we allowed to spread out by one seat? So instead of being next to each other we fill every other spot?
I think that is why Sphinc wants them back, we are running out of room ??? You could try though, but if someone takes the spot, then you'll be sitting by a stranger... which shouldn't be a bit issue, as Frag should be considered a good experience to meet new people.
QuoteI think that is why Sphinc wants them back, we are running out of room Huh?
Wow, I remember seeing lots of empty space every time I go :o
It was just a guess... I'm not completely sure why he wants the space, but that makes sense to me, to give other 6 man groups a place to sit next to each other if they want...
When I told a co-worker that I was going to Frag at the end of July, they asked why we hold it in the summer. Why do we? When it was an aircraft hanger before I imagine there'd be inadequate heating, but I imagine the Mayfield provides enough heat in the winter. Is it cheaper to rent the halls in the summer? Do we get more high school students off for the summer this way?
That would be a question for the Frag forums Ustauk, although I believe the summer break does take into account the student intake from Gradeschools.

If I recall correctly from a previous Frag discussion:
- Students are out of school and they are a very big part of the frag demographic
- Summer makes for easier and safer loading and unloading of equipment and travel
- Common vacation time for most people

Cool, that makes sense, thanks.

Well as it sits right now, if Curtis is in there are 6 of you sharing an 8-seat reservation. The other one is Fruiteater, who is currently positioned right behind Tonnica - I think you'll all remember Nick from last year. I don't expect Sphincter will bother me about getting 2 unused seats back - feel free to spread out as much as you want in that area. Plus you can still grab seats across the row leaving more elbow-room in the reserved area. I also don't know Aatis's plans (my youngest brother, currently sitting right behind Lazybones) - he had asked me for space in the reservation for him + his friends, and never got back to me with his list of friends. They may end up taking most of the space behind you guys now that its open though.
I would reccomend someone take the seat just above ebbhead (the lowest one still reserved). Past experience has shown me that guys next to our reserved section like to try and expand into it. Even if you don't sit there, having it on the seating page will result in your name tag being taped to the table at that position - hopefully thats enough to keep other people expanding if they get in earlier than you guys. The seats are reserved on that online thing - but at the event they'll either have a red paper with your name, or a green one saying the seat is free, no more reservations.
I took it. I assume I can move later If I want. :)
When do the Fraga Tee Shirts and hats come in?

They had lots at pre-reg, but they're all gone now. They'll have more at the event, though how much and what sizes remains to be determined...

I ordered a shirt and hat at registration. Just wondering when they arrive. First day? or before?

Oh, in that case they should be at the door when you hand in your waiver and get your id (etc) unless they don't have all their stock there right away in which case it may be Friday or even Saturday.
Ah, Good to know :) Thanks.
Oh and nice Jinmay ;)

Seriously though, considering it was pre-frag I'm very happy to see the responses re. wisdom teeth so thanks everybody!
I hafta say; FRAGA was GREAT this year!
Well organized
Lots of great stuff to see and do
Supreme Commander (FTW!)
I honestly have nothing to gripe about...
I had a blast, it was great to play with all you guys. Supreme Commander was fun, even though I kept getting my arse kicked, and I had a lot of fun playing assault maps off of Mr. A's Unreal Tournament 2004 server :)
SupCom was defenitely the big winner of this years' Fraga. I'm not even a fan of RealTimeStrategies (I prefer TacticalRPGs) but it's just the right mix of fun, intuitive controls, and neat themes/graphics. Wish I could have got up and running earlier but I found plenty of other fun things to do. There was a Nintendo booth and I got to go to the Club SLi do on saturday night. I also managed to get into the final dozen for rock-paper-scissors. I defenitely appreciate everyones' support while I was PC-less. Having hardware go down during Fraga is agony and I was defenitely cheered up.
Once my computer was finally up and running that is. I hit some bad luck and had to exchange a few things for working items. In the end though I think I've got a rig that will last me a good long time. For fun here's my setup:
Asus Striker Extreme w/ DualDDR2 800, SupremeFX 7.1 Audio, Dual GB Lan, 1394, Dual PCI-E x16 SLi
Intel Core?2 Duo Processor E6850
Corsair 2GB XMS2-6400 Dominator TWIN2X Dual Channel DDR2 Kit (2 x 1GB)
2x eVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDTV-Out running with SLi
1x Seagate 500GB Barracuda 7200.10 SATA II w/ NCQ, 16MB Cache
Asus DRW-1814BLT 18x Dual Layer DVD+/-RW w/ Lightscribe
That Antec 900 Gamer case that almost everyone else had that's a bit too heavy but is loaded for bear with powerful, powerful fans
I'm not allowing myself to buy anything expensive for the next three months after a purchase of this significance.
I can do anything ANYTHING and no chop, slowdown, or waiting. I can zoom in all the way in Supreme Commander and still scroll around at top speed while I've got other things running in the background. I doubt I'll even need to consider upgrading to quad core or the next big thing until at least 5 years from now. Can I borrow a cup of ice? She just runs so hot! I picked the box for your PSU Tonnica in case you wanted it for the warranty, if not I will chuck it out.
I hope you all had a great time, and hope you snagged some decent prizes as well. Man did we have a lot to give away this year.
From a Staff point of view, the Network was a pain to get together, as we rebuilt about 80% of it. But during the event it was flawless. Could have dealt with better heat control, and wouldn't have minded if there weren't any fights during the event (stinkin' CS players). Other than that, it went off pretty well. Wouldn't mind being a little more organized on the fun events next year, and is something I am bringing up at the next Frag Staff Meeting.
Oh and for games I must say, Rainbow Six: Las Vegas was a huge hit with the staff. 'Cause of the lack of problems, this is really the first year I can remember where the staff was able to really sit down and play some games. This one was so popular with the staff I hear all are practicing up for MegaFPS coming up.
I agree, it was the best frag yet.
Only minor annoyances remained, but no show stoppers like power and network problems.
- Heat
- Some organization of events.. My SupCom round started an hour late and then I had to wait for an opponent.
Just a warning, the Intel mints from the event are caffeinated peppermint. Don't much on them near bead time.
LOL says that right on the box!
In fine print on the bottom. I know because I turned it over to read during the day.
