What is required to participate?
Just an interest in helping Google improve the relevance of image search results for users like yourself. Although you do not have to log in to your Google account to help, logging in will allow you to keep track of your points. You can also choose to provide a nickname, or you can remain anonymous.
Heck, it even sounds FUN -- like an interactive 2-player web gameshow where you both win. :o

update: I tried it, apparently my random "partner" was drunk or non-English or something -- 2 images, one of a small jet plane the other of a bunch of bicycles in front of a river, looked like European old city of some kind, a bit gloomy maybe sometime in the fall. And yet, after 90 seconds (about 45 on each) and a half-dozen labels by my partner...
You and a guest failed to match on any images.::)

oops, you gotta type your label then hit/click ENTER. For each label.
I got 300 pts, then 400pts... And I contributed to the accuracy of the Internets. YAY!
