I was looking at map-making software on the weekend and found this ScreenMonkey software - it lets you display a partially-obscured map on a second monitor while you've got the original one on your primary screen. Awesome for a GM, I think.

Multiple Monitor Support. Use ScreenMonkey at the game table and project the player map onto a second monitor!
Nice!
Using a laptop and an extra LCD shouldn't be too difficult.
Rendering time should be faster than the Thorindraw engine, but I am sure it isn't as artistic. ;)
Or a laptop and a projector... ;)
As long as the projector is quiet and not pointing at my eyes...

Doesn't have any fancy map obscuring (yet), but may in the future. And I still want to make up a nice char sheet app.
