Title: Which 5 minute fight scene is better?
Post by: Darren Dirt on April 24, 2007, 05:01:53 PM
(a) totally choreographed, one-camera continuous-shot of an indestructible hero (Tony Jaa)

(b) partially improvised, semi-campy bareknuckle fistacuffs (among friends -- Roddy Piper and Keith David)

Personally, I have great respect for the complexity of (a) but to me it just didn't have the same sense of urgency or danger or brutality as (b).

Thoughts?

a) Was too long, and ultimately looked like half of the targets where flinching way before the hits, or even jumping the hits and reacting badly.
b) I really felt like they where kicking each other's asses the whole time.
