Man this one is looking better and better. It is either going to be a blast or going to be a bomb!
Nice, hadn't seen that one yet... Not much new, however some things look more mature.
Holy dogjam... that was a brilliant promo/demo vid -- if that was coming out for only the PS4 I would actually consider buying one, that is gonna be the "Killer App" for newer systems (video cards, RAM, CPU etc.) and I can imagine happily letting my kids play it for hours on end discovering cause + effect, simply exploring... it's like forget "Sim City" or "Sim Ant" -- this is "Sim Life" ! 8)
i think they are still considering a Wii version, it isn't all that graphicly intense, however it does have a lot of precedral animation and texturing.

There is apparently an official release date: March '08.
Damn, spoke too soon.

C'mon it's a Molyneux game it won't make a release date, certainly not an official one.
Just caught up on the vid for this one. Man, it looks neat but it really could go either way (bomb or win). I like how things are looking slicker, but I did notice what seemed to be a simplified method for attaching limbs. It could be that they made creating the skeletal frame a bit easier to prevent bad model movement.
If anything I'd like to try a demo before deciding. The gameplay does change as you go from cell->space, but the initial gameplay should speak for control scheme, ease and flexibility of creation, etc. If anything I'll be humming the theme to Katamari Damacy as I make the little cell grow and evolve. ;D
Here's Will Wright's presentation of Spore at the TED (Technology Entertainment Design) Conference
http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/146
There are a lot of other really interesting talks at the TED site as well.
The TED videos are mostly great, some stuff is impractical but still very cool other stuff is so simple and useful you wonder why no one came up with it before.
Great link man!
