This is an interesting way to do an FPS:

The video looked sorta neat so I thought I'd read the preview at Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/wii/action/linkscrossbowtraining/news.html?sid=6181032&mode=previews). Looks like it'll be fun, and sort of a light-hearted first-person shooter that I might actually let my son play next year.
I'm pretty sure I'd end up holding the Nunchuk freely in my other hand, though, rather than popping it on the back of the Wii Zapper (that's what they're calling that piece of plastic the controllers are mounted on). I wonder how Call of Duty 3 would play with the Wii Zapper?
Meh...
Really doesn't look that appealing too me.
Watching this video it doesnt look like the Zapper will be compatible with CoD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KY15m7-eOg
Not with the Nunchuk mounted on the back of the Zapper, no. But I like the idea of basically getting a pistol grip for shooting games, rather than pointing with an oversized Snickers bar...

You're jaded :P I'll bet my oldest would have a blast with it, given that he's pretty new to FPSes.
Reminds me of the Super Scope (and the Super Scope compliant games). I'd be willing to try it, but I'd want to be sure there are games that come out with it that can use the configuration but doesn't require it. And even then I'd want a folding shoulder stock for it.
I could see this setup improving my aim slightly. I got very good at aiming arrows/hookshot/camera/etc. freestyle with the Wiimote when I got to the end of Twilight Princess, but there's value to be had in forcing a pivot point just behind your trigger hand. It feels more natural for me anyways.

How old is your oldest? If i recall he was still fairly young. Guess it would make sense that us more experienced gamers would find more joy in the epic Bioshock, Orange Box or Halo 3
Not old enough to play T-rated games.
I'm not so sure about this, I think the Wii-mote is pretty good by itself.
Maybe after Christmas I'll be able to review it for you :)
Santa's packin' a crossbow this year? That oughta keep those lazy reindeer moving!
Sounds like this one is worth the $20 sales tag: http://wii.gamespy.com/wii/links-crossbow-training/836818p1.html (http://wii.gamespy.com/wii/links-crossbow-training/836818p1.html). Might have to convince people to pick this one up :P
