Is that a good thing? Maybe. In my search for NPD data, I came across an explanation of how to interpret Macromedia sales data (http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:ZivGR9e70VIJ:www.adobe.com/macromedia/ir/macr/whitepapers/npd_pos.pdf+npd+sales+data&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=3&gl=ca&client=firefox-a) and realized that NPD data is substantial, dense, and difficult to properly comprehend and is often interpreted several ways by several reviewers. Which, of course, always ends up sparking fanboy feuds. Then again, I tend to agree that video game sales data needs to be better reported (http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0PJQ/is_19_2/ai_n6227089/pg_1) to ensure mega-corporations like Sony don't succeed at pulling the wool over our eyes.
Oh well, I guess nexgenwars.com and vgchartz.com will see more traffic as people hungry for stats start looking elsewhere.
