Title: FFXIII and FFvsXIII
Post by: Melbosa on December 18, 2007, 08:34:30 AM
With MGS4 and these two games there might be a reason to own a PS3 again:

FFXIII: http://ve3d.ign.com/videos/20015/PlayStation-3/Final-Fantasy-XIII (http://ve3d.ign.com/videos/20015/PlayStation-3/Final-Fantasy-XIII)

FFvxXIII: http://ve3d.ign.com/videos/20016/PlayStation-3/Final-Fantasy-Versus-XIII (http://ve3d.ign.com/videos/20016/PlayStation-3/Final-Fantasy-Versus-XIII)

And yes, they are bringing back Cloud and friends I believe, thanks to FF: Advent Children's success (or so I have read).

They would have to be spectacular games for me to fork out for a PS3.

Well, I really, really hope they examined what makes a game like FFVII so great to begin with and bring it forward. The last few FFs haven't been all that great (to me at least).

Yeah I have to agree to the "might" part.  PS3 still needs to prove it is worth owning.

This year has seen a really good crop of games for it though, but the price is still out of reach for most I think.

So, which is your favourite Final Fantasy?

I like FF IV (it was released as II here).

Fancy looking trailers indeed. It looks like they're going for a lot of flair and atmosphere in the paired games. Square-Enix has kept reasonably tight-lipped on anything but basic details and teasers on these games. I'm willing to keep an open mind about what the games will be like. With so many FF titles personal taste can really determine whether you like it or not.

At the moment FFXIII reminds me a bit of VIII. That's not a bad thing in my opinion because I liked VIII's setting.

I am getting pretty sick of Nomura's character designs though. As beautifully detailed and fantastically lit the models are (especially at that rez) there's something I just don't like about them. It might be they hit the uncanny valley for me. Maybe it's all the belts and zippers.

Also: my favourite FF was V. Best job system ever.

With MSG4

Took me a second to realize you meant MGS, not MSG...  When I first read that, my mind immediately started wondering what Chinese food game you were talking about (and why it was already on it's fourth iteration!) :D

Don't be sorry, it was funny.  Imagine a Chicken For Lunch game.  Or even better, a Lydo game :)

A Final Fantasy style RPG about Chicken for Lunch!?! Brilliant idea!

My favourite all time game, FFVI (aka FFIII). Also the only game I've ever finished.
