Not sure if an internet petition will do it, but it would be great to see him stopped.
Gawd I hope so... just finish watching Dungeon Siege over the weekend, and anyone who can butcher a movie with that much actor talent and special effects deserves to be banned. And I really gave it a shot, having no hopes what-so-ever for the movie!
Yeah, also, Germany removed to the tax dodge that allowed him to get funding to make movies.
My memory is fuzzy on this, I can find a link to back this up later...

The truth of it all is that Boll?s entire shtick is in essence, a sham. He?s not a bad director under the true definition. He just isn?t a director period. He?s only bad because he has no intention of trying to direct a coherent movie, let alone be good. All he needs is 90 minutes of celluloid and a good sales pitch for his investors. He?s not flying in the face of adversity Ed Wood style; he?s rubbing his palms at the awfulness of the dailies, thinking of how much money his fingers-on-chalkboard scenes will make in tax rebates.
Best. Explanation. Ever.

Aha, you've got it. Since the change in the German tax loophole Uwe has no reason to make movies.
The list, while funny, is a bit redundant.
QuoteBoll: Blizzard froze me out of WOW movie
News was in no short supply during the 2006 Electronic Entertainment Expo, but one of the biggest tidbits to come out of the trade show was news that Blizzard Entertainment and Legendary Pictures would be teaming up for a silver-screen adaptation of the massively popular massively multiplayer online game World of Warcraft.
At the time, Blizzard Entertainment was adamant about its level of control over the project, with chief operating officer Paul Sams saying it took the developer five years to find the right partner. Directorial partners have faced a similar level of scrutiny, with Sams saying, "While I can't give out names right now, there's some meaningful people that have expressed interest."
One of those people, meaningful or not, was apparently infamous game-to-film adaptation specialist Uwe Boll, reports MTV. "I got in contact with Paul Sams of Blizzard, and he said, 'We will not sell the movie rights, not to you...especially not to you,'" related Boll. "Because it's such a big online game success, maybe a bad movie would destroy that ongoing income, what the company has with it."
As of last year's BlizzCon, Legendary Pictures had estimated a $100 million budget for the film, with an estimated theatrical debut in 2009--when the upcoming Prince of Persia film is also slated to unspool. Blizzard nor the production company has firmed up details on who will be directing or starring in the live-action project, which has not yet entered preproduction.
Guess those guys at Bliz continue to be a little smarter then the rest.
Not going to happen, as I suspected the internet petition contains flaws and he was quick to point them out and ignore it.

I'm not a @%ing retard like Michael Bay or other people running around in the business or Eli Roth making the same @%ty movies over and over again," says Boll. LRR (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LoadingReadyRun) does a funny "news story" on the Boll petition...
http://loadingreadyrun.com/videos/view/320/uwe-boll-decision-2008
...love the ending where "Graham" does the the subtle cut re. "Chronicles of Riddick"
oh, and further "wtf*, zomg rly?" is the fact that "Dr." Boll actually did this (http://loadingreadyrun.com/videos/view/330/an-interview-with-uwe-boll) interview with them.
*I say this because after watching this informal, candid chat he has with Graham, WOW I actually have a small but measurable amount of RESPECT for this much-aligned film maker. Seriously. Weird eh?

Bay just doesn't care. About what *anybody* thinks. He says if you live your life that way, you're a pussy.
Can't argue with that.
I was reminded of that when I watched this video, posing the question: does Michael Bay deserve more respect? apparently. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN-cIWazmkU)
I admit I have enjoyed some of his lowest-common-denominator action flicks, and I remember a lot of his uniquely entertaining commercials back in the 1980s-1990s ( see: https://www.indiefilmhustle.com/michael-bay-bayhem/ ) however when he tries to get complex in storytelling it's almost painful to get through to the end :cough:TheIsland:cough: ... having said that, as an individualist I gotta say he's his own man, and not beholden to anyone else's expectations or judgements. And for that he gets the respect of the Spielbergs of his industry. So at the very least you gotta respect that about him.
...even if he was the one who decided in "The Island" that SJ was to wear a bra during that bedroom scene in the third act...
EPIC THREAD NECROPOST!

Why should he care when people stuff millions of dollars in his pockets regardless of the quality of what he produces?
I know that I look forward to "Transformers 5: How much can you Tolerate" coming in 2017!*
Something that generally upsets me is that sausage-makers like Bay exist in the corporate side of the entertainment industry and are allowed to just @% out whatever they want but actual artists have to
really struggle to make
anything happen.
*as in seeing if it can finally rank on the iMDB bottom 100 list
