some of you may have somehow missed* the blogosphere's coverage of the recent SNL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tina_Fey#As_host) premiere...

*no shock if you didn't watch it though, since apparently other than the opening bit the rest of the show sucked (even a Digital Short managed to suck!) http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/entertainment_tv/2008/09/fey-palin-snl.html
Wow they still make SNL? Really?
I thought it died off ages ago...

Its spirit died, agreed... There are still the occasional funny bits that I find on the webernet that make me chuckle -- almost 99% of those are "SNL Digital Short" thingies usually by/with Andy Samberg and his "Lonely Island" buddies. Which is why I thought it was noteable that -- other than the opening sketch (http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/palin-hillary-open/656281/) -- even the D.S. sucked in this recent ep (according to Teh Critiks). Samberg, get off your laurels, this is no time to rest!
http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/ has hundreds of The Old Classic Stuff if you're ever in the mood to walk down the Lane D'Memory... Plus most of the "Digital Shorts" too so you can get up to speed on the new blood ;)
