...but reading the whole thing is info-taining (i.e. a surprising amount of useful information peppered amongst the flame war -- especially between "batistuta47"* and "ratiocinator").

*lol gotta love the tone in this response...

First, let us question your reading abilities. I did not say that humans were not animals. I said that among the normal spectrums of human morality, human lives are more valuable than other animals. The use of the word "other" would suggest that I consider humans animals.

Second, species and race are not the same thing. If you believe all life is equal, then you would be just as "racist" as me, because I venture you eat plants. You single them out and have decided that they are less worthy of protection than other species. Then again, as I have posted before on this board, vegans do not have any problems being fascist.

Third, "Crone's disease"? Seriously though, are you that stupid? That's not a typo. Alzheimer's? No one knows what causes it. Diabetes? Related to sugar, which last I checked is a plant product. Cancer? Caused by innumerable things, including pesticides used in the growth of plants.

Now onto your ambiguity-laden hyperbolic statements of unassailable "truth":

"Nothing is worse for the environment than the meat and dairy industries."
Nuclear waste is far worse. Mercury? Urban sprawl? Slash and burn agriculture?

"Nothing is more brutal and cruel than the meat and dairy industries"
Dog/[naughty bits deleted] fighting? Saudi Arabian prisons? Guantanamo Bay detention center? Ethnic cleansing in various places aroung the world, both currently and in the recent past? Deforestation? War in general? Nature in general?

"Nothing causes more disease, death, and poverty in humans than the meat and dairy industries"
War and ethnic strife? Pol Pot? Hitler? Mao? Stalin? Mugabe? Religions like veganism and pentecostalism?

"Nothing is more abhorrent or unethical than the meat and dairy industries."
War? Genocide? Deforestation? Chemical dumping? Child molestation? Punch Drunk Love and The New World?

By the way, good going on the unbiased evidence for your position. Did you just google vegan websites?

I really should watch this movie (Fast Food Nation, 2006), methinks, but then again the likely result (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460792/board/nest/72545096#74131148) would mean less delicious mealtimes (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460792/board/nest/96340606#103885582), so I dunno... :(

(I should probably also check out some of these surprising links (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460792/board/nest/72545096#75810954))
