I think a lot of guys would wear out the spacebar...

See, my experience is that "whacking" is more of a euphemism and less of a literal description of the action.  It'd hurt to constantly whack the spacebar.

If I was a tech at a company where regular users had these pants, I'm pretty sure that as the early adopter I'd have my own.  Just unplug his and plug your own in, and scandal averted.
