Where have all the posters gone? And I don't mean the paper things you hang on the wall, I mean Righteous Wrath's posters...
Nowadays it seems like a ghost town in here. Has everyone switched to Facebook-via-Twitter, or something?
I've found it often gets slow like this. Days at a time where people won't even check the forums.
I barely have time to read let alone post these days.
Summer too I suppose. People are just outside do'n stuff more.
Not much to post about lately.
Heh. Would anyone happen to know where I can find a GeForce 8600M GT laptop video card?

What!?!?!... those are mostly un-replaceable :( Video cards in laptops are typically hard-wired to the motherboard or to the pcb board. You would have to find a similar, if not exact same as the one you have to fix it (if you are indeed fixing - upgrading is a whole 'nother story).
Sorry off this week, so my posts have been lacking. Just checked the forums for the first time in about a week.
As for posting... well I try, but my posting audience is very limited here now it seems :(. These forums used to be riddled with Gamers... now not so much, so my news focus doesn't much appeal to the viewing audience.
But alas, I still will weigh in or post stuff that is interesting! So don't quit on my account!

That's the funny thing, the Asus C90s laptop is a bit of an odd duck. The video card, RAM, and hard drive are all pretty easy to remove. The laptop was designed with upgrading in mind. Unfortunately Asus did not hold up their end of the upgrade plan and now the few compatible cards (the 8600M and 8800 MXM GTX/GTS) are out of production and hard to find. The form factor inside the chassis is type II I think so it allows for a certain size of video card.
Man that's about the most interesting thing I can think of to post.
Both ati and nvidia tried their hand at a modular upgradable GPU. It didn't really get that much consumer attention though. I think some laptops still use a similar gpu card though, just theres no telling if it'll have any customizations making it specific to that one maker or even model...

Always thought this had
started as a guild/general gaming forum, but pretty quickly evolved primarily into a defacto "NAIT buddies and their buddies" meeting place, which it will never stop being :)
Melbosa, you shouldn't really care about what people are interested in, theres plenty of gamers left (I assume), and with all the stuff Darren posts, it'd be a nice change of pace ;)
hey, are you saying I don't got game?

S'up!
Usually at work I'm too effin' busy to log in on my phone... I have to do most of my surfing through Remote Desktop on another box.
I'm glad to be tearing this app a new one but it's got me tied up, and then when I get home I'm usually doing artwork or reading.
This last weekend a bunch of @% kinda fell through and I ended up playing Fallout 3 for the first time in a while... I played 17.5 hours of it...
I haven't found my happy spot at the new place (I may never, it's a @%ing gong show at every step, not "bad" gong show, just... everyone in that place is hilariously naive). The only sanity is the senior I work with but he's on two projects which leaves me working with the muppets most of the time...
I wanna get some real dev done, or at least fall back into somewhere comfortable again. I'm also seriously sick of this @%ing pager.

I'm sorry for your loss.

It's not really a "loss" it's "just a job" though, I don't really feel committed to what I'm doing. I'm still writing kick ass code though, it just doesn't grab me.
It's an Analog post wave! :)
Sucks that work isn't going great, projects in my department haven't been going all that well aswell.

^ that's what I was talking about vis. "loss". As Larry Donner said in TMFTT "A
writercoder
writescodes, always" but it's way better when there's a reason to feel
passionate about what you're creating...

Surfs up! Heh.
I don't it's not really going bad, but it's not really going good.
Darren, you hit the nail on the head... I got into this game for the action not the paperwork!
