http://getlamp.com/ (a documentary about adventures in text*) (!)
found via http://radoff.com/blog/2010/09/14/lamp-2/
(the doc is made by Jason Scott (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Scott_Sadofsky), the guy behind textfiles.com (http://vimeo.com/7638539) -- and another documentary, about the old days of BBSes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBS:_The_Documentary).)
for Infocomaniacs, WOW what an amazing panel: http://vimeo.com/10665720
*some of the very first computerized "social games (http://radoff.com/blog/2010/05/24/history-social-games/)" (unlike what some call "sociopathic games (http://www.next-gen.biz/blogs/not-playing-farmville)"!), may the younger generations appreciate what they have now, and what came before...

lol
I'm pretty sure there's been a fairly large resurgence in the popularity of text based games in the last couple of years, I saw a few people playing Zork (it "looked" like Zork to me) at Fraga.
Nostalgia never dies :D
anyone who likes games and/or storytelling just has to watch ANY of the videos on the Jason Scott channel @ Vimeo, they would be drawn into the world of Interactive Fiction just by hearing the guy's passion and humor bubbling forth.
His Defcon17 talk about getting sued for 2 billion dollars (http://vimeo.com/user411865/videos/page:2/sort:newest) = easily worth wasting your lunch hour imo.
