Hey gang,
Now that I have like, twice as many network capable devices, I need to branch out. I was poking around the web and saw a deal on for the Cisco SLM2008, I think I might jump on it as it has some nice shaping features to it and from what I hear the detection is actually pretty boss (well at least to the rather awkward marketing video and a few spotty forum posts here and there) but I guess what I really want to know is what is "Cisco" stuff like these days? I know they are under Linksys now (branding anyway) but I dunno, is this going to be an "interesting" adventure or just something I plug in, configure and forget??
Cheers,
Mr. A
I think its just what a linksys small business switch would have been. Cisco just swallowed them up.
I think they both make/made decent hardware, so it should be ok.
Yes, all the higher end linksys have been branded cisco but kept their linksys model numbers or where discontinued. Some good gear for those on a low budget.
Well, I read some really good reviews on this particular device and the price was unbelievable so I ordered it.
I think I have an old 10/100 switch I can use to just get things connected until then but I'm going to be a happy boy on Thursday when it comes in.
