Title: looking back on the films of 2000-2009

some interesting lists there, especially found this one note-worthy:

a handful of those are ones I want to see, but forgot that I want to see.

sorta-similar, but for video games, and for 2010 only: http://playstationlifestyle.net/2010/12/30/top-five-games-you-probably-missed-in-2010/ (that 3D Dot Heroes game looks... weird?)

There are a couple on that list that I've yet to see but I'm surprised some real 21st century classics weren't there like Mulholland Drive (tied with Blue Velvet as my fave Lynch film).

it's not "overlooked" though. If it's got "cult hit" status presently I think it's excluded (hence why, for example, Donnie Darko ain't on the list).

AMAZINGLY hard to believe that Mulholland Dr. was 2001 ... I coulda sworn it came out more than 10 years ago, wow.

Ah now I see what you mean especially with Grindhouse on that list, as well as Fearless (and a few others). Now I haven't looked at the numbers but if I recall most of them weren't exactly financial successes at the box office I know that many of them enjoy cult status (hell Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is one of those films that's highly recommended on most "missed goodies" lists).

I find it particularly interesting that many of the films listed either missed their intended marks or had awful, awful names that scared away potential moviegoers.
