Title: Deadpool movie?
Post by: Stewie521 on July 04, 2011, 07:02:52 PM
So my dad got Marvel vs Capcom 3, and I started playing as Deadpool. Shortly after I tried to find any online comics centered around him to try and find out a little about him. Instead I found a thread about some guys talking about how after the Green Lantern is done, they're gonna look into a new hero, Wade Wilson. So Deadpool might premier in 2012 or later (assuming we all live past then since the end is near).

So how long until ALL the Marvel heros are movies?

The sad thing is they might skip his costume, and change the story and Deadpool's personality traits, to some crazy-comedy-yells-out-whatever-he's-thinking guy. The whole point of the costume is this;

He's an assassin. If things go well, things go well. If things go bad, he gets plastic surgery and changes his identity, then starts over. SKIP HIS COSTUME? That'd be like a robber giving the bank teller a list of where he's going after he's finished robbing them.

An interesting movie, and probably a good one if have no idea who Deadpool is (don't get me wrong I don't know a hell of a lot about him).

Deadpool is an awesome character, pretty popular in the Marvel universe. You should pick up some of the graphic novels (though you might want to check the covers, some are rated 18+)

Pirate Bay is usually good for comics, but the best option of course is to vote with your dollars and visit Ye Olde Comic Book Shoppe

So now that the movie is finally coming out, and of course the instense trailer released in early August, I only now discover this teaser-interview thingie that was out there before that full trailer*.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUEkqZxLyrg

I actually jumped at that end part. Did not expect it, but glad I watched it. [lol @ "F Y, S..."]

*which btw did you know had a "trailer for the trailer"? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPZHBjyUGhQ #selfawareHumorFtw

PS: Melbosa mentioned the video game. I recently mentioned watching some cutscene-only Bioshock play-throughs. So it just hit me, combine them and voila! Deadpool: All Scenes + Jokes Cutscenes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iol617kOmS0) <-- Spanish subtitles though. I'm sure there's other play throughs but this one apparently strives to include like EVERY joke.  8)

Speaking of Bioshock I tested out GeForce ShadowPlay (video recording software) at lunch today

Works pretty well, virtually no dropped frames.

There is something wrong with my mouse though the sensitivity is like 2000% (even though I have the slider down to 0)

So DP2 is already official: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/deadpool-sequel-works-863418, and looks like they would like to get an X-Force movie done as well: http://ca.ign.com/articles/2016/02/09/getting-an-x-force-movie-made-is-ryan-reynolds-next-priority

QuoteWe've been hearing rumblings about an X-Force film for a few years now, with series creator Rob Liefeld praising a screenplay penned by Kick-Ass 2 helmer Jeff Wadlow back in 2013. The following year, Liefeld said the film may have been shelved following 20th Century Fox's announcement of X-Men: Apocalypse.

Together this sounds like the worst of all possible combinations of anything

I will say this, whenever I feel down about my own artwork I look at Rob Liefeld and remind myself that he got paid by Marvel -and went to print- with unbelievably bad art (http://www.progressiveboink.com/2012/4/21/2960508/worst-rob-liefeld-drawings)

I saw it last night, and I was blown away - far exceeded my expectations, and I pretty much never stopped laughing.  And best intro credits ever!

And like most Marvel movies, stay till after the credits.

It's broken a lot of records already, certainly something to go see!

I wish I saw less if the trailers because as you said plenty of hilarity but too much was spoiled for me.

But I was laughing out loud LOUDLY during those opening credits! That really set the tone.

PS simple storyline though, like a single short comic issue. But the framing of time jumping around was really well done "...and now you're all caught up!" :)

I wonder how much extra budget they will get for sequel #1 #2 #8 ... because there is no limit to how much they could stretch this franchise imo.

Maybe eventually "rhymes with pulverine" would cameo ;)

For me the Trailers didn't spoil much even though I'd seen so much before.  I laughed just as hard in the Movie as I did when I saw the Trailers, maybe more so based on the mood the movie had set.  But each his own.

I would say if you liked any Trailer for Deadpool you will enjoy the movie.

I would put it in the following location on my movie scale, between these two descriptions:

Excellent
    Deadpool
Great
Good
Ok
Meh
Not Worth Seeing
WTF Were They Thinking
Not Interested

The "Grexcellent" (see above) film gets the "Wisecrack: Philosophy of..." treatment. And it's quite well done.

Makes me re-examine various other "meta" iconic art of the last few decades (most of which I *love* ... so does that make me a hipster? :-P )

I wouldn't say hipster I'd say good taste!
