Title: Steam launches Game-and-Hat-Trading beta
Post by: Mr. Analog on August 13, 2011, 03:30:15 PM
QuoteValve this week launched a beta test of a new Steam feature: Steam Trading. The new facility offers the ability for players to trade Team Fortress 2 items and Steam Gifts at this time, with a mind to rolling out the program across Portal 2 and third party games over the next few months.

This makes sense to me, if you have in game items that can be traded you need an exchange for them. Doing it in game is annoying (mostly because it interrupts play).

It also leads to lots of chat spam during games when you have a rare item...

I am tired of people asking to trade for my OSX buds.
