Title: Steve Jobs steps down from Apple
Post by: Mr. Analog on August 25, 2011, 10:42:27 AM
I'm sure we've all seen the headlines today, still absorbing what this might mean for Apple.

What do you guys think? Is Apple's success due to one man? What about its future?

Well one thing to to be clear is the following:
Steve is changing roles not leaving yet.

Tim Cook has been with Apple almost the whole time since Jobs Came back, and has taken over the roll every time Steve has been on leave.

Steve reorganized all of the management to align to his philosophy.

Tim has sent out an email stating it will be business as usual.

Jonathan Ive actual designs the look of the products

Tim Cook is largely responsible with getting all the manufacturing in line and giving Apple huge margins.

Steve is the one that gets all the details, IE approves the designs and stuff, as well as is the master presenter. VERY important but he isn't the end all be all.

One blog liked it to Disney loosing Walt or Ford loosing Ford, big change but still life will go on.
