Title: Razer Blade: Gaming Laptop Extraordinaire!
Post by: Thorin on August 30, 2011, 09:56:00 AM
It's got an LCD-screen-multi-touch-pad to the right of the keyboard, it's powerful, and it's thin.  Oh, and it's expensive: $2,800.  Still, I wouldn't mind owning this laptop.

I kinda like the idea of having a little utility screen with custom buttons, if only OLEDs were cheaper you could do something like it with a keyboard. I remember Tonnica got one of those keyboards that has lighting/mapping for particular games (ZBoard?) and it helped her quite a bit.

I'm still a bit put off by laptops (mostly because of the screen) but also the upgrades are kinda limited compared to a PC.

Still. pretty cool

Yeah, laptops trade upgradability and screen / keyboard separability for portability.  I was impressed with this one because 1. the touchpad is also a screen, 2. there are customizable buttons about the touchpad, 3. the touchpad is to the side instead of always getting in the way, 4. it's actually a very thin laptop (about half as thick as our work laptops) yet still very powerful.

I'm diggin' my new Razer mouse, I didn't actually think changing my mouse would improve my gaming but it's made me much deadlier in TF2/Fallout

I do have to disable the acceleration feature though if I use my mouse for drawing (which isn't often given I have a tablet).

Side Note: Still haven't gotten word back on SWOR beta, likely I'm going to dive into Deus Ex here anyway but still, would have been nice to try it out. September 20th will plunge me into the Mojave wasteland again too...
