15,455 BACKERS

$2,146,364 PLEDGED OF $100,000 GOAL

35 DAYS TO GO

ummm... how is this possible, some kind of weird math? a 20-fold exceeding of the goal?

You get nothing if you don't reach your goal by the time limit so most big projects set it for 30 days. However once set I don't believe you can change time limit but you can add rewards.

Also if you meet a minimum donation your reward is often thr product for much less than retail...

For the watch that is currently $115 but they state it is expected to retail for over $150.

Due to exceeding expected fundin they are also already taking feedback and expect to make it water proof not just resistant.

Too many things on Kickstarter tempt me. I also want that one fancy wall clock.

They cut off the first run of watches... I got in on time to get two... and yes I figured out several uses in my life where this will be useful.
You are looking at someone who made very good use of an original Timex Datalink Watch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timex_Datalink) for many years.

Y'know the funny thing is that the VC people who first looked at this and passed because they thought no one would want a wrist mounted PDA.

The guy is brilliant!

Actually there are several other similar smart watches on the market however they have two SERIOUS flaws practical battery life and screens that are not always on.
- e-ink allows the pebble to always display the time and saves the battery
- pebble lasts 7+ days on a charge vs 48 hrs to 4 days from the alternatives. IE not one other smart watch with simmilar features will even make it through a work week or small vacation.

Anyone looking into Pebble on this forum, when Lazy got his Pebble in April of 2013 the discussion (and hands-on review) continued in that thread (http://forums.righteouswrath.com/index.php/topic,9536.0.html).
