Title: old school Doctor Who song (1988, by The KLF)
Post by: Darren Dirt on June 19, 2012, 07:40:50 AM
2 minute version of Doctorin' the Tardis, with super cjeesy video (1988 after all)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdTELokKfCk

8 minute version to play in the background while doing stuff (if you remember* when this song was hugely popular)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5fDOCwa9L0

^ this version had an interesting comment about a book The KLF wrote, which maybe some recent "one hit wonders" (perhaps more than we'd like to think about) took seriously and/or followed religiously:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Manual_(How_to_Have_a_Number_One_the_Easy_Way)
"a tongue-in-cheek step by step guide to achieving a No.1 single with no money or musical skills, and a case study of the duo's UK novelty pop No. 1 "Doctorin' the Tardis"."

* then you probably also remember this awesomeness (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpN42A-rh3Y) (loltastic Motorola Brick cellphone @ 3:31 )

I'll never forget when I first saw this, my mom and dad were out to an Oilers playoff game and I just happened to flip channels and it was on MuchMusic so being a Whovian I cranked up the volume and partied like only an 11 year old in the 80s could: dancing like a maniac wearing cool shades
