I'm sitting at a rink, waiting for my daughter to finish her conditioning skate, I have a laptop with a fully charged battery and a decent wifi connection. But I can't play Minecraft because I didn't bring a mouse and the game really doesn't work with the touchpad (if you start using the touchpad, the game ignores any keys you might have been pressing, like W to walk forward or Shift to not fall 50 levels).
I guess next time I'll remember to pack one...
:(
Wireless Logitech, takes standard batteries and lasts for bloody ever!
At home I use a Razer Deathadder, maybe overkill for Minecraft but for other twich-based games it kicks ass.
Try updating the drivers for your touch-pad, as it really shouldn't interfere with the keyboard like that. I played for several months on a laptop with no mouse, and though the touch-pad wasn't ideal for playing, I had no real problems.
I have extra mice around, I needed to pack one and forgot to. That Razer Deathadder looks nice! And yes, I know that the touchpad shouldn't interfere, but it does :( The drivers are up-to-date.
