Title: Video Game Night - September 29th
Post by: Melbosa on September 27, 2012, 11:09:48 AM
Who's in?  Tom, Mr. Analog, Lazy, DD, Mags?  I know Thorin is busy.

What where you thinking of playing? Also at what time... I might be able to block the time out if I plan for it. My Xbox live is currently only Silver but I might have a Gold month card kicking around..

On Steam my multi-player game are limited mostly to older stuff or things from Indi bundles.

Man, this would be sweet, I'd love to play some multi-player stuff with you guys.

:)

I'm up for just about anything

Yeah, I might be up for something :) today and tomorrow are going to be full work-work-work days. want to polish up the app, and its going to take an overhaul of some of the original code >:( probably take a full day if not more.

So yeah, I'm up for some fun on Saturday.

Well I can pack up the old lappy and we could game at Mr. Analog's if Lazy wants in; then we are almost all in the same room!

Come to think of it, I have two lappies that play games, so I could bring one for Tom as well!

That would be helpful, my laptop's graphics are a tad anaemic (Intel G4500MHD).

What are the chances I could get a lift as well?

Oh sorry Mr. Analog, thought your place was open as we were going to do D&D there.  If it isn't, Tom's right, we can do it from home.  Otherwise I can provide the transportation.

I just had to juggle a few things around, arrange some transport for a little earlier in the day :)

We all cool :)

SO the BIG question is what game are we going to play??

TF2 I have and can basically pickup and play on a whim.

If we do Xbox I need to make sure I have gold activated.

If I recall they Fixed up multiplayer in Castle Crashers.

Haven't played any multiplayer in a very long time so I am not sure what to suggest.

Yeah! TF2 could work, try some co-op (it's really fun)

But y'know, I'm up for anything!

Title: Re: Video Game Night - September 29th
Post by: Melbosa on September 28, 2012, 08:22:20 AM
So it sounds like some TF2 will be on the agenda... what else we looking for?  If Lazy can't play all night, I have some DOA5 we could sink our gaming needs into.
Title: Re: Video Game Night - September 29th
Post by: Mr. Analog on September 28, 2012, 08:27:20 AM
Yes DOA! Actually if Lazy has some multiplayer games we can play each other on XBox (my Gold membership is still good :) )

I also have UMvC3 which is much more balanced than MvC3

Tom if you are on Steam at all today add TF2 in your library so when you log in on Mel's computer it's just there ready for download/activation

Also there are training modes you can try if you do want to get a feel for it (I can't recall if you've played before or not sorry!)

I think all of us also still have Unreal Tournament 2k4 so we can run around gibbing each other LOL

OR MAYBE I can gift you guys some AWESOMENAUTS!

hehe

Post by: Lazybones on September 28, 2012, 08:41:38 AM
I have no idea where my UT disks would be.

So far all I can confirm is TF2, for Xbox I would need to add gold and possibly make a trip to EB since the games I play on it are mostly single player.

Been very busy at work this week so I haven't put much thought into it, looking forward to clearing my head this weekend.

I hear ya, we had a release yesterday and it didn't go so smooth so I spent 6 hours on a shared call (10:30 AM to 4:30 PM)

I feel like I'm dead today

All I've been able to do is doodle in my off time

Heh. Maybe. I've got this project rework I'm doing. Been at it quite a while now. Not sure when I'll finish the rework.

I'll try and pop in tonight.

Do you remember back in the day we'd ask Tom when he was available and he'd say any time is good for him?  Poor guy, now he has to work like the rest of us.  Although now he's rich :)

lol. I can almost always make time still :)

In fact the work I'm doing right now doesn't strictly need to be done ASAP. But I'd really feel better if it was. Client will be showing off the app to investors on tuesday, and I'm not entirely sure when the app will be handed off to them for it. It's taken a good day to get to being close to getting the base of the rework done, after that is integration, and then testing. It could happen quickly, it probably won't though.

If they are handing it over today, I may just go have a nap ;D then watch some tube, then play games \o/

It's okay I was only gonna jump on if you wanted to get some practise, shooting robots is a lot of fun even without practise hahahaha

I need to catch up on some arts anyway, especially if we're going to be gaming tomorrow.

Oh I should find out soon what time y'all can come over.

It will probably be around 4 or so? Still confirming some deets for tomorrow.

Yeah, I need my RnR. Otherwise I go nuts. My anxiety causes constant elevated stress levels, so situations that would normally not affect a person can send me over the top. Though its been better since I got my prescriptions adjusted. \o/ Oh, and by nuts, I mean I shut down for days or weeks at a time. I can't afford that anymore, so I'm glad its not as large of a problem anymore. But I do have to make sure to take breaks and rest. One major reason I only agreed to 4 out of 5 days a week for the majority of the time. I need that day to rest, and/or do errands.

Well this is why I was offering LOL

I guess it depends on what class you want to play Soldier / Pyro / Heavy / Scout are pretty easy to figure out, Medic can be tricky...

Engie / Demo / Sniper / Spy you need to know the maps

I should be flexable on the chat end I have both and we can always open up a clan channel in Steam.

As for time I might not be available till later in the evening... as 3-4 for you would be 2-3 for me and I have some things to get done on the weekend.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (tttt)

I have perogies, spring rolls and potatoes for baking

I have a salad

A sleeve of Coke Zero

Beers

All you need to do is bring your bad selves, some munchies and whatever else you want

I have 3 giant grilling steaks but if you want to bring something else go right ahead (I'll just freeze what I don't use today anyway)

Just a heads up I'm having LOTS of problems with Valve games in the last 24 hours (HL2.exe has stopped working)

I've gone through many of the steps to try to fix this but it just isn't working (it will work for a while and then just die).

Other people have posted this same problem to Valve forums so it may be a widespread issue, if that's the case we may need to find a non-Valve game to play (as a backup)

Sorry Tom.  $80 is already $40 cheaper than I paid for them and $20 cheaper than them brand new right now at MemEx, and that is the best price I am selling them at - sold to my co workers for $90 3 already.  And these are brand new drives, only been used for 2 days while I troubleshooted my NAS problems.  So I will bring all three, but you decided if you can afford all 3 at $80 a piece or just two.

Just packing up now... omw to get you Tom.  And yes we can stop on way by!

will do. Do you mind if we stop at sobeys before hand? If you bring the drives I'll need to get cash too. Also would you take 200 for all three? Or do you insist on the original asking price?

I just like to try and make deals :) its still a decent deal, and there's no shipping/tax. NCIX has them on  for $89 (http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=66010&promoid=1210). Also I won't have to test them, since you already did I assume.

Gentlemen,

We have The Avengers (blu ray)

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (tttt)

I have perogies, spring rolls and potatoes for baking

I have a salad

A sleeve of Coke Zero

Beers

All you need to do is bring your bad selves, some munchies and whatever else you want

I have 3 giant grilling steaks but if you want to bring something else go right ahead (I'll just freeze what I don't use today anyway)

1. I'm damn tired from going to bed at 2am and getting up at 5:20am for the first ice time
2. This sounds damn fun
3. Only one more ice time to go, and I should be able to hit the hay around 1am today
4. Seriously, this sounds damn fun

Woo yeah, some fun times for sure!

We powered through the story mode of DOA5, played every MvM map (on normal mode) and shot tons of zombies in L4D

We really have to do this again!

It was spectacularly so much fun.  Next time I expect Thorin and DD, maybe even Mags in on the fun!

I'd've loved to have joined in.  I'm pretty burned out from my weekend, though :(

Ah it's okay, we actually did pretty good for our first time out really.

If we all use headsets then we can communicate better, two guys up front, two guys covering the rear and finding good spots to hold a defense.

I watched a bunch of lets plays today to get a feel for how it works, so many obvious things that I was doing wrong LOL

Also the first map we played is also one of the hardest, it actually requires us to leave a guy behind (canonically this is Bill)

We should have played Mercy first but I bet Mel has played that a jillion times lol

Ah well we can do it again later.
