yikes.
Since many in the media/weather industries are starting to call this "The Storm Of The Century" (most likely from its wide impact due to how far north and inland it ended up going) my guess is various news stories with footage etc. could be posted ITT.
but first to start it off with a bit of a light-hearted perspective...

Netflix says streaming is up 20% today versus the same day last week. Kids shows are especially popular. "The Perfect Storm" not available.

It's terrible that's for sure, a reminder that there is a blood drive going on at the moment I think they need both plasma and plates (? don't know what that is). If I get a chance I will donate tomorrow at the doc's office.
I can't give blood due to having had cancer and systemic blood infection. At least, when I tried to donate fifteen years ago that's what they (the people who actually take the blood) told me. Thank you for donating blood; there was a time where I needed donated blood to make it through a surgery.
Plates'll be platelets. Plasma is just the liquid, platelets includes the clotting agents and are only used when a person's body isn't producing clotting agents of its own. http://www.blood.ca/centreapps/internet/uw_v502_mainengine.nsf/page/Platelets-donation-process?OpenDocument
neat!

not just water damage, some of the photos are of the devastation from a 100+ home fire that ravaged Breezy Point (http://www.google.com/search?q=Breezy+Point) (ironically, the fire spread so ridic quickly due to the strong breeze (http://rbr.com/broker-glenn-serafins-account-of-breezy-point-ny-flood-fire/))

Yeah, don't even feel like smiling imagining a giant monster-sized Bender or Zoidberg leaving that behind.
