While searching for a picture of the old Apple manuals, I came across this:

It's a Citroen 2CV body with widened wheel flares mounted on a Suzuki Samurai chassis with a Ford engine. The 2CV was supposed to be France's everyman car, much like the Beetle was for the Germans. It was highly regarded for its ease of use and maintenance, it's rural-road / field performance (especially for a two wheel drive), and it's low fuel consumption. At the same time it was despised for its cheap feel, noise levels at speed, tendency to completely rust out, and absolutely gutless engine compared to other cars on the road.
