HOLY CRAP THAT ACTUALLY WORKS!!! Although I did have to change the Windows tracert code you posted there to up the maximum hops like so:

yeah, somehow it's even cooler watching it do it For Real (and not just reading about it) -- reminds me of the text lines being output, char-by-char, in the original TRON movie.

Also, you can put almost anything in a reverse lookup record you control so I have done some fun things in the past that make tracing easier such as naming otherwise unnamed items in my internal reverse lookup records to make it clear when others run a trace.
