...who didn't consider himself a novelist (he loved ideas, but hated writing http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-17285332 ).

Interactive!
But still not as fun, imo, nor as rewarding / thought-provoking*, as just reading http://www.quotationspage.com/quotes/Douglas_Adams/

It's odd, I haven't been to Google homepage all day so this is a pleasant surprise!
the Guide contains a handful of word-free entries* -- Babel Fish and Earth and Towel are obvious and easy to recognize, and the Heart of Gold has been film-icized, the Vogon [Poetry] entry has been
cuteified, and the mice-humans-dolphins-mice entry is funny, and
Deep Thought is actually LOL-hilarious. Nice surprise was the "how to fly" bit -- it took me a little while to get it, but in hindsight it's actually really well done, covers pretty much the entire entry (http://www.extremelysmart.com/humor/howtofly.php).
Happy birthday Douglas!
PS:
Spoiler
did everyone manage to find [classic!] Marvin's hiding place?
