The creator of the Mo Creatures mod has teamed up with Jeb and Dinnerbone to bring horses (and donkeys) to Minecraft. As well you will be able to craft wool blocks into decorative carpeting AND they are moving toward a new launcher so that you can keep multiple versions of Minecraft on the same machine.

I like all the different things people have already done with leashes and various mobs.

..

There was one guy that got a testificate to hang from a leash, turns out he put the testificate on an invisible pig.  Using invisible pigs to do what people say couldn't be done.  Perfect!

Hah, that's like the Return of Herobrine map where they had Creepers riding on invisible Chickens (i.e. YOU WANT TO SEE TERROR)
