"Utopia" is a 2-season thriller series from the UK. That looks @%&#ing BEAUTIFUL.


And considering the genre and the overall look/feel/MOOD I think it would totally click for my rare episodic viewing tastes. I mean, cmon, David Fincher was brought in to make a [failed] HBO version! Think of what he did with "House Of Cards" by importing it from the UK... but set inside an X-Files-esque story world!

Any comments on Youtube threads for either the first trailer or clips etc seem to say "I was intrigued and expected it to be good and was BLOWN AWAY by how GREAT it was" etc... and we're talking not just the striking visuals, but the rest of what makes episodic media stick with you long after viewing. Music, editing/pacing, story, and as a result the emotional impact of events and scenes and themes etc.

To this day I remember how I "felt" while watching Season One of "Hannibal" on NBC. Could not believe it was on "network" television to begin with, but it had such a strong impact it was like virtually no other TV series I ever experienced. Hard to explain why, just a whole package deal.

Here's hoping Utopia is similar in that way. There's some channels on YT with complete episodes (for us non-Torrenters). Just gotta set aside a few evenings where I am able to fully focus on the ride...
