They contacted me today on linked in about a possible mobile dev job opportunity. Wondering if anyone has heard of them, or know anything about them past what you can find on their site? Not sure how accurate the info at glassdoor is, but it seems somewhat positive.

Mr. Analog

Don't recognize any names, looks to be like any one of a number of consulting places, so things will go up and down depending on the project I guess?

I imagine so. My last client was like that. They mostly did consulting with a few internal projects, or projects they bought from clients.. It was weird, and I'd be surprised if that client will still be in business in a few years. lool

But they wanted to talk about FTE work, sooo, yeah, not actually full time. which is absolutely fine with me tbh. They seem to be a MS shop though, i wonder how nice sharepoint is. lol.

Yeah, definitely MS-centric, that said you might fill the gaps they don't have because of it

Eh, go for an interview, they're in Scotia Place maybe we can hook up for lunch or something

Going to guess http://www.devfacto.com/services/enterprise-mobile-solutions/ Android and iOS development is where you fit in.

Sharpoint and Office 2016 are really great for collaboration if you are on a Windows or MAC desktop or even Android, iOS, Windows phone mobile device;)

Yeah, they requested a talk over coffee. We'll see how it goes. Something tells me they may not be able to accommodate me mind you. Some might find it silly or unreasonable, but I just can't deal with going to the office every day, and my hours in general need to be somewhat flexible due to my insanity.

A job's a job and you can't get it if you don't try.  I've not heard of them, but you won't know if they'll accommodate you until you talk about it.  Make sure to think of things to point out that will offset your inability to come to the office - that you're tenacious on solving problems, that you learn new technologies quickly, and that your technical skills are your strength.
Prayin' for a 20!

gcc thorin.c -pedantic -o Thorin
compile successful

Thorin

Oh, and let me know if you need a personal reference, I'll chat you way up.

Devfacto plays in my slow pitch league so I know a lot of people whom work there.  Seems to be a decent place to work and the 10 or so people I know are alright decent people. I say give it a shot.

I feel like many of us appear "freakish" compared to normals, other than inside our own career field... and the above are ways we can say "put up with our weirdness, it's a blessing not a curse!"

For those who remember "Traders" I think each of us has a bit of Grant Jansky in us ... and some quite a lot more than just "a bit"! But step out of the way leave us alone and we will deliver amazing results -- miracle workers, we are, imo.
