A couple of years ago I posted an income comparison calculator type dealie, here: http://forums.righteouswrath.com/index.php/topic,8842.msg61800.html#msg61800.  It showed how one's income stacks up against other Canadians.

But income is only part of the picture, the other part is net worth.  I was looking for a definition of "middle class", and ended up stumbling across this net worth comparison calculator type dealie, here: http://www.moneysense.ca/planning/the-all-canadian-wealth-test-2015-net-worth-calculator/.  There's also a nice long article about it here: http://www.macleans.ca/economy/money-economy/are-you-in-the-middle-class/.

Pretty cool.  Except for the fact that my family's in the bottom quintile (fifth) for net income.  That'll change within two years, though, as debt gets paid down and our house and RRSP values continue to increase.

Interesting stuff but it still doesn't provide a very clear picture..

There are so many variables.

Well, now you can figure out what quintile of the population your income is in, and then you can figure out what quintile of the population your net worth is in.  Beyond that, though, you're right.  There's still no good definition of "middle class".
