https://www.clearly.ca/ has a mix of cheap and name brand stuff.. I like them mostly because they are Canadian and I can get my glasses in as little as two days.

When people buy designer products they are exercising conspicuous consumption, owning a luxury good for the prestige it brings, not for any other factor.

It IS concerning that one organization has become a monopoly in this arena, however there are options for conscious consumers (which in itself can become a counterculture prestige thing)
