OA Part 2

As a fan of Brit Marling from really early on, I loved the experience of The OA: Part 1.

Something like 2 years wait, but finally, Part 2 dropped on NetFlix.

And... and ... idk if others have binged it yet. But it's quite a ride. Unique even vs. its predecessor.

BTW if you never caught OA Part 1, it had the misfortune of being released too near the more heavily promoted Stranger Things.

But it's a completely different thing than Stranger Things.

And it is definitely worth watching, unless you only like formulaic predictable simple genre entertainment.

It is visually hauntingly beautiful along the lines of NBC's Hannibal, or Season 1 of Millennium... or even David Lynch's initially underappreciated Twin Peaks. It is quite a world to just watch and enjoy, even if there were no story to pay attention to.

But a stpry there is. It is a rich world that Brit and Zal built, with vivid characters and heart-wrenching plot events that move the story along and make you feel for the characters. And its conclusion was not as cheesy as some cynics said.

...Just like this new season's conclusion isn't as silly as some cynics will probably say. Because Brit and Zal have a whole planned 5 season story arc to tell and all pf this will make sense, they promise... Unlike certain high profile genre-busting mystery/fantasy shows that got huge followings but then (and as a result) the writers started desperately making random @%&# up to stretch out losta seasons.

AKA my guess, and my hope, is this will go the route of Breaking Bad. And not Lost or Walking Dead.

A few years into the future I will revisit this thread and judge these words...
