So i was over at EBGames lastnight looking for a game to play (just finished SW:RC and SW:KotOR), and while i was looking over the shelves the gamer chick (employee) (not sure her name, but she's hot none-the-less) asked what type of game i was interested in, well, i was sorta unsure, so i simply say "somthing epic", she instantly grabbed a copy of "Nexus - The Jupiter Incident".

Well, after plunking down my $40, i get home and install it.  Anticlimatic in that their is no patches, and the games official website looks like ass....anyways, i get the game installed and fire it up.

*OMG*

...as many of you know i do a ton of gaming, and go through games very rapidly and basically i know what im saying....well, Nexus is without a doubt, 100% the best looking game i have EVER played....ever.

The enviroments are massive, and battle is amazing, seeing 2 capital ships pummel eachother while the fighters (that look like fleas in comparison) battle amungst themselves, and bombers making massive bombing runs is just something of sheer beauty.

The game really eases you in with excellent voice acting, a very good backstory and a tutorial that is second to none.

Unlike a similar game *Homeworld*, Nexus isnt exactly an RTS in that their is no resource gathering, but its all combat and strategy (their was another game out recently that was similar to this, but squad combat).

I was simply in awe the entire 2 hours i fooled around with the game.  I plan to spend some serious hours on the campeign in a couple days, but for right now my pre-emptive score is a healthy --- 8.5/10

Mr. Analog

Wow! That sounds amazing, mind if I swing on down one of these nights this week?

I can make you a copy.  I found a no-cd patch for it lastnight because im very much against the whole cd thing, i play to many games, and constantly switching is a serious pain in the ass.

D&D night i can bring you a copy.  You really dont need the manual (which really sucks btw) because the intro+tutorial is near flawless.

A great tutorial overcomes a missing manual any day of the week - I got hooked into the Deus Ex world by the tutorial, the intro movie, and then the coffin was nailed shut by the intertwining conspiracy dialogue :)

But wow Galaxy Andromeda ... oops, I mean Nexus, seems to have some nice gfx but the gameplay is what it's all about. *starts Googling for a demo*

...

seems only a MP demo. But one of the search results seemed to imply Nexus was mentioned in a "most anticipated games of 2005" list -->

But Bioware's got a lot of people's hopes up this year that's for sure:
Jade Empire
AND Dragon Age!

Jade Empire is a no-brainer for me as ive played through both Knights of the Old Republic.  Each of which had me begging for more.

Im gonna put down some serious hours into Nexus tonight.  See how it lasts through a 3-4 hour sitting.

found the page mentioning Nexus - see a 30 second video clip (with the editor's praises of course) --> http://www.gamespot.com/features/6116286/p-10.html

PS: Looks like a 1-mission demo is available too for some of us who like that method of "try-before-you-buy" --> http://www.download.com/Nexus-The-Jupiter-...4-10323296.html

Official Website; the devs seem like some down-to-earth men-not-in-suits :)
