Power Consumption

Lazybones

 I picked up an energy meter today and wanted to share some of my results. Its amazing how much less power an LCD monitor uses than a CRT, it is also equally amazing how much power some devices use when turned off.

 I wonder what kind of draw the APC has when the battery requires charging and a device plugged into it is on / active?

I plan on testing that.. but it took a while to work out all of the individual parts..

I don't expect it would draw more than the sum of the parts.

My 9000BTU A/C unit consumes a great deal of power..

Took much less time than the average DND session. And learned that I can watch almost two full episodes of Robot Chicken while powering my DVD and Receiver off of my UPS..
