Would love to hear Howard's new show once: http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2006-01-09-stern-recap_x.htm

QuoteThough technically uncensored, Stern used little profanity. However, he didn't shy away from X-rated material peppered with bad language, and his staffers frequently cursed. From 6-10 a.m., we counted approximately 172 swear words.

We had Sirius in our rental SUV when we were down in Mississippi (yes, we needed a seven-seat SUV because we had seven people to transport and there were places where we did drive through farmers' fields).  It was great!  There was a special kids' channel that played uninterrupted kids' songs all day long!  It didn't even drive me insane!  Bwahahahahah!

Although satellite radio doesn't work if you're driving on a road through a forest where the branches hang over the road.  Or if you park under a roof at a gas station.  Or under a roof at a drive-in.  Or under a roof at a parkade to get out of the goddamn-sweltering-hot-burning-globe-of-fire's-heat.

That's weird Thorin, as I know that the modules are supposed to be portable and work in a house environment in a boom-box style getto.  I get that its LoS technology, like Bell or StarChoice, but thought there was more to it somehow.

Everything i have read points to XM being the better system (that is if you can live without the potty mouth Howard Stern).  They offer an upgrade for my car stereo over at the GM dealership, im thinking of going for it.

Here's a link to another  play-by-play of the first Sirius Howard Stern show.  I was especially tickled to read that George Takei is the new announcer.

Well, maybe the modules hook up to some sort of antenna on the top of your house.  My experience was in a car.  The antenna was at the rear of the roof rack, which we figured out when we parked most-but-not-all of the vehicle under the roof at the gas station.

And yes, Mr. A., I frequently have the radio on in my car :P
