Test your popup blocker software! For us web devs, popup blockers can actually be annoying if it is overly sensitive (e.g. Yahoo's popup blocker will think a FORM with <target="_blank" ... should be BLOCKED!) but luckily there's lots to choose from for personal use... And you can test how your blocker responds to various code, by visiting here:

Quick informal poll: Who uses what popup blocker on a regular basis for personal browsing?

Without changing my setting FireFox1.5 + AdBlockPlus (and filter set) I only had the drop down popup display, which really is a type of embeded DHTML anyway.

The following popups popped up for me:

Firefox 1.5.0.1

 Drop down Popup

 Sticky Popup

IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 (IE 6, WinXP SP2, all security updates) with Google Toolbar containing popup blocker (but didn't stop any as IE caught all the ones Google Toolbar would have caught)

 Floating Popup

 Drop down Popup

 Floating banner

 Sticky Popup

I hate the dropdown popup because it always covers the content I'm looking at.  The sticky popup isn't usually all that bad because it's off to the side and if it were being used for a toolbox-type-of-thing it'd be useful.

Suffice to say, I use Firefox wherever I can for my browsing.
Prayin' for a 20!
