QuoteSomeone on the Nsider forums discovered a working USB Ethernet adapter for those who wish to use a Wired Connection rather than a Wireless one. The adapter is a: KINAMAX USB 2.0 to RJ45 Fast Ethernet 10/100 Base-T Network Adapter which can be founded at newegg.com for roughly $20-25. Read more for the video!

Probably will be cheaper than the official one. Good for those not running WiFi at home.

That's cool, and the price isn't too bad. Having a working ethernet adapter would defenitely be handy if you haul your Wii around to a friends' place and they don't have wireless. Or even if you don't have wireless set up.

I did make a note of how quickly some of his downloads were running. I've had a slightly slower experience when connecting/downloading on the Wii. It could be that their network was still being hammered at the time though.

I ended up changing the topography of my home network recently. I now use my cute, wee little router (a Linksys Compact Wireless-G 4-Port Router http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10064584&catid=21119) to connect my Wii and my Nintendo DS to the internets. On the downside, the wireless router I bought is considerably more expensive than an ethernet adapter. On the upside, I can still surf around the internet with all the computers in my house AND the Wii at the same time. Plus it was easy to set up and secure, which is good because I'm a networking idiot.

I didn't find his screens to be much faster, if at all. I have found that depending on time of day it takes very little time or forever for the marketplace to load. I really hope they fix this in the future.

I learned today/yesterday that the nintendo usb wifi dongle is based on a common buffalo chipset. Seems to be supported faily well on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
