Still watching it right now, but they are doing good live summary updates on engadget.

360 related details over here: http://forums.righteouswrath.com/index.php/topic,4689.msg29894.html#msg29894

Some really nice stuff shown on this live broadcast in the Vista area.  Things that got me excited...
  -  Live Search over the network
  -  Shadow Copy for reverting
  -  That uber awesome create a DVD thing

That video desktop is a neat idea but I doubt I would use it.  The Ultimate Extra stuff could be interesting, I am eager to check out how good that picture thing works,

The IPTV feature has me excited, it looked very slick.. NO CHANNEL CHANGE LAG!

Shayne

The IPTV thing has me a little confused though.  It seems that you will have to go through a service provider, so would Shaw need to do this as they are my internet provider or could I subscribe through AT&T and use my Shaw connection?

Wow, this kitchen thing is pretty awesome.

I get the impression that the kitchen and bedroom stuff is just "concept" or "mockup" at this point and time..

Ya, so was the Bus Stop and Cellphone stuff, pretty neat ideas.  Though did you hear when he said that the system for the Kitchen ran off an RFID.  That little thing is gonna rule the modern world it seems.

Shayne

As much as I know that its CES and not E3, I was hoping to get some more 360 plans for the future (partnerships and the like).  Not bad though, Apple's keynote is right around the corner and Im very interested in some of the stuff that might come there (a true ipod video, next gen OSX)

There are already fridges in the works that will detect the RFID on your products and track them for you... Not a stretch.

No way ETS will pay for fancy buss stops like that, in fact I am not sure where they would install those.. The stops them selves get vandalized to often as it is.

I can't wait for follow up product announcements for IPTV and Home server.. As I assume the vendors that are going to release products based on this stuff have been holding there announcements until after the keynote.

Shayne

Home Server is something that seems like it should have existed for such a very long time.  I have been running one for years, many people I know have been running them for years, and it just seems like the best way to centralize everything.  Most of my family and friends own multiple computers, multiple TVs, etc, if we can access content from a central server if we are at home, on the road, etc with very little tech skills required and Vista being the catalyst I can't see any wrong in that picture.

Stuff that Microsoft shows in Vista, Home Server, 360, Office is extremely market leading at this point.

Doesnt Telus basically offer IPTV now?

Yes, but when you put it on a large TV of any quality it looks like you are watching a YouTube clip. The quality is horrid! I am POSITIVE they do not have any HD content nor do they have the bandwidth to offer it.
