Guess there is another one of these scheduled for release Feb. 9th.

Hopefully it's better than Aftermath, as I really miss XCom.

Hmmm so looked a bit deeper, guess I missed Aftershock, wonder how it was.  And UFO: Extraterrestrials seems to be a rip-off game of the same type, but from a different company.

Guess I have some checking up to do.

Aftershock and Aftermath were both horrible.  Its unfortunate because X-Com is one of maybe 3 games that I nostalgically play.

Agreed, at least on Aftermath and XCom part.  I just love the original, and even the water sequel.  It was the bases, ships, research, and wanting to keep your member alive that appealled.  And I really loved the turn based, and 3D environment (Aftermath for pets-sake wouldn't even let you blow up parts of 2 stories, yet the original XCom did).  I don't know what is wrong with making one with Turn Based combat again.  I liked the strategy of that.

Base Management was also pretty cool.  I love when the aliens would invade your base, then you get to play the game and see your base from that perspective.  Super cool.  The research and having to hire the scientists at a cost, building bases all over the place so you could get them all.  I love it!

Melbosa

Yeah and having the ability when building your base to put hallways in, to create bottle necks to defend with.  Not this square to square idea that seems to be popular now.  And barracks, build barracks near entrance so your squads would be right there to fight off guys coming in.  Or hangers that showed your ships docked waiting to take off.  Yeah I was probably the best put together RTS, that wasn't just a RTS, and still is one of the best to play.
