Very important point here for environmentalists: China gives a crap about polluting the atmosphere!  That's an especially big deal considering China is now the largest emitter of CO2 and, more importantly, 30% or more of China suffers through acid rain.

Officially China's government has cared about their environment since before the turn of the century, but in reality they've only been seriously addressing it in the last year or so.  Hopefully they don't take as long to tackle acid rain and inhalable particulate pollution as the US did...
