This is pretty disheartening; a company was hired to manage some rebate application forms for a retail electronics chain called Fry's (it's like Futureshop or Radio Shack) and it turns out over 1300 of them were just turfed in the trash. Now I know most of us don't redeem anything under $20 (I know I don't) but imagine not getting the "mail-in rebate" on a big ticket item because the company hired to handle it just threw them away. The worst part is the response of the company's owner!

QuoteWhen confronted, the company's owner blamed it on a lazy employee who no longer works for Vastech and offered to process and sign checks for all of the envelopes in front of the reporter.

Way to point the finger at an underling there chief! Even if it was the fault of a lazy employee the owner of the company should step up and take the blame. At the very least, ultimately it's his fault for hiring a moron.

Ahhh, the joys of business!
