ROFL

To begin with, Dutch people have an unhealthy obsession with "Kabouters" (gnomes/little people).  For instance, google for "Pinkeltje".  You'll find that he was translated into English as Fingerling, although I'll always remember him as Pinkeltje.
On top of that, yes, they sound funny when singing about a hole in the roof.  But hey, try watching Lazytown in Icelandic...

Just to show that the Dutch aren't all bad:

Esmee Denters talks about being an Alpha Kitty.  And yes, she's Dutch.  And yes, she speaks a little Dutch in this video.  Barely an accent, though.

Never heard of her, until now.

Translated Lyrics
If anyone's interested, here are the translated lyrics of this innocent song:

This morning I rose early,
I felt drops on my head.
I looked up and saw just then,
what happened up there.
The was a hole, it was very big.
Through the hole fell a nut.
Then a brach fell on me,
And also a very big bird's egg.

Refrain:
There is a hole in my roof,
There is a hole in my roof.
I don't feel at ease,
There is a hole in my roof!
There is a hole in my roof,
There is a hole in my roof.
I don't feel at ease,
'cause of the hole in my roof.

Spoken:
But what has that to do with Klus? (Klus translates into Fix)
I will tell you quickly.

I called my friend Klus over,
He said: That's just the thing for me.
He hammered about ten ours,
Then the hole could not be seen.
Klus said: Look, I did it again,
He jumped up and down of joy.
Suddenly, I heard a noise and -crack-
there was a new hole in my roof.

Refrain
"

...the REAL lyrics are just as brain-numbing as a "Dora" marathon. ;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUVUMBWhlgo

That's the song I was talking about earlier today with Klabauterman. My favourite part of the song is the speaking part:
"Captain!"
"Ahoy!"
"Is your ship an icebreaker?"
"What?!"
"Keep your eyes open!"
"Is it an iceberg?"
"NO!"
"Is it a shark?"
"NO!"
"Is it shoals?"
"NO!"
"Is it the Klabautermann?"
"YEEAAAHHH!"

Plus: pirate duds as a bonus. The only way Klabautermann could be cooler is maybe having "cool" literally in his name (like Finn McCool).
