Joey Moss Cup - cheap Oilers hockey in Edmonton

We're going to the Joey Moss Cup this year, where two sets of Oilers and Oilers-hopefuls play a single game for the right to hoist said cup.  It's cheap ($10 a seat beforehand, $12 at the door), and many of the players are playing for a position.  Veterans typically show as well, so you'll see, say, Ales Hemsky alongside Anton Lander, or Nikolai Khabibulin taking turns tending net with Tyler Bunz.

It's at 2pm this Sunday at Rexall Place, and they typically sell enough seats to fill the lower section - some people will move down to open seats between the first and second periods.

I watched the Young Stars tourney with the Oil and Jets... damn Bunz stood on his head to get a shutout that day.  It might be worth having him in a couple games this year for the Oil just to see if he is NHL ready!

Heh, I watched all three of those games.  Yeah, Roy did good, but Bunz did better.  Brown worked hard, but the team in front of him wasn't as strong as the other two had (no Nuge or Teubert, for instance).

These young players certainly are good, but almost all of them really aren't ready for the NHL.  Still, watching an inter-squad game with veterans and yet-to-play-in-the-NHLers mixed together will be entertaining, and that's what I want when I pay to watch hockey.

For the Jets I am interested in seeing Shayne Wiebe and Mark Scheifele (7th overall this year) play a couple of NHL games.  They definitely were the two best Jets on the ice through the tourney.
